SOS Outreach

Building character and leadership in underserved kids through mentoring outdoors.

Why We Partner With SOS Outreach

There’s nothing better than seeing an ear-to-ear smile on a 9-year-old’s face after she’s skied her first run on a mountain. Grounded in outdoor experiences, SOS Outreach helps kids gear up for life. Their programs ignite a passion for adventure, inspire the courage to try something new, and instill lifelong lessons and skills in our kids.

Helping underserved youth gear up for life through various outdoor programs is a big part of sharing the outdoors for us. It gives them a chance to learn and grow in beautiful places that they may not get to experience on their own. Our employees volunteer during ski and snowboard adventures, enabling our staff to have a direct impact on the kids in the programs. We’ve joined SOS Outreach’s Ride the Rockies team, a road ride that raises crucial funds for each participating non-profit team. We also donate product for their staff and volunteers to wear while they are working with program participants.

About

Since 1993, SOS has transformed the lives of more than 60,000 underserved youth. Using a unique combination of outdoor adventure experiences, positive adult mentorship, and leadership development opportunities, SOS enables participants to unleash their potential to thrive. Serving nearly 5,000 youth each year, across 15 locations in 9 states, they provide opportunities for personal growth for the kids in the communities that need it most.

Kids learn to connect with their peers, mentors, and community through outdoor activities, all of which help them discover an unknown side of themselves. SOS inspires kids with a sense of purpose, ultimately preparing them with unique skills and strengths.

Students who might not have access to outdoor sports have the opportunity to learn new activities. Along the way they are mentored by adult volunteers, practice core values, take part in leadership workshops, and complete service learning projects. The SOS curriculum requires increased commitment each year, helping youth grow over time into healthy, confident, active members of their communities.
