Conrad Anker

Conrad defines a generation of climbers. He’s pensive, philosophic, and always ready for the next challenge.

To call Conrad Anker a veteran climber would be an understatement. Conrad’s been hanging cliffside from Meru to Antarctica since the late 1980s. He’s become an icon in the sport and a major inspiration to generations of climbers.

Conrad has a few superhuman qualities. His third Everest ascent was accomplished without supplemental oxygen, a distinction the smallest fraction of climbers can claim. He’s also rebounded from a major heart attack while climbing 20,000 feet above sea level in the Himalayas. With a meticulous foot care regimen, Conrad understands the importance your feet play in reaching the summit. He always saves a fresh pair of Smartwool socks just for the occasion.
